Tameside College virtual open event is huge success

From website visits, to Facebook Live attendances and applications, Tameside College’s first ever virtual open event was a success.

The event was launched to reach potential students based in and around Tameside, who have been unable to attend the college’s campuses face-to-face this term. The event was essential to help promote the range of courses and information Tameside College has to offer for ages 16-18 and adults.

With the aid of 60 course videos from curriculum staff, a welcome presentation from the principal, and interactive 3D virtual tours of campus; the college has created an interesting and realistic first impression of its learning environment for those wishing to attend in future.

One major part of the event’s online success were the webinars, hosted via Facebook across all courses, from animal management to painting and decorating. These were held each evening across all sites, and are still available to watch on the colleges’ Facebook page if you missed them.

Created using high spec technology and equipment, the interactive virtual 3D tours offer a tour of all three campuses. Also available is the doll’s house view of the campus. This is a unique feature, giving more depth to the buildings potential students will learn in.

YouTube was also instrumental to the success of the virtual open evenings, with an increase in views and subscriptions during and after the event.

Days following the event show an increase in applications in comparison to the same time last year.

Keep an eye out for future virtual open events at Tameside College.
