Celebrating Careers Week with glowing guidance report

Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form Colleges have been praised by Matrix; the sector’s information, advice and guidance watchdog.

Inspectors commented, during an annual continuous improvement review, on the “increased use of video and other technology” to inform future students of their options. The report also reflected how effective the college is in consulting students about issues that affect their learning and wellbeing. This included how the service was adapted virtually during the pandemic.

In summary, the inspector reported: “The progress made and demonstration of continuous quality improvement, despite the current situation, demonstrates that the service not only continues to meet the matrix standard but has added a number of strengths to the service.”

Emma Armitage, director for pastoral said: “We are delighted with the results of the annual matrix assessment. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we have developed our service using technology to meet the differing needs of current and potential students. The review is a credit to the teamwork, flexibility and determination of staff to innovate and enhance the service we offer.”

National Careers Week runs from Monday 1st of March to Friday 6th March 2021
