This programme is the first step to gaining a qualification in the Construction Industry, specifically in the role of Plumber

Understand and carry out safe working practices in Building Services Engineering

Understand how to communicate with others within Building Services Engineering

Understand how to apply environmental protection measures within BSE

Understand fundamental scientific principles within building services engineering

Understand and carry out copper pipe fabrication work for domestic plumbing systems

Understand and carry out low carbon steel pipe fabrication work for domestic plumbing systems

Understand and carry out plastic pipe fabrication work for domestic plumbing systems

Understand the key features of domestic plumbing systems

Understand and demonstrate techniques for installing and securing plumbing pipework
An Individual Learning Plan will be designed for your needs

You will be assigned a Personal Tutor and a Progress Tutor who specifically look after your pastoral and course requirements

You will work with the latest industry tooling as used by Plumbing specialists including Rothenburger, Monument, Anton and Salamander.

On your course you will experience Industry talks, Industry visits and compete in various Skills Competitions

You will be encouraged to complete a C.V. and apply for Tameside College Apprenticeships within your chosen specialism and gain valuable work skills from work-experience placements.
Learners must have;

4 GCSE’s grade D – G 0r 1 -3 (Must include English and maths)

Successful interview with a Plumbing tutor

A genuine interest in the subject

Good communication skills

A hardworking approach towards the industry
Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Foundation BPEC

NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating BPEC (Apprenticeship)
