This is a full time study programme which covers a range of health and social care topics. The units are assessed internally by subject teachers.
Over the 1 year duration of this course, you will cover a variety of topics that link to health and social care which will allow you to explore the health and social care sector in more detail and the career opportunities available.

● Equality and Diversity
This course is for learners who would like to work with individuals who may be vulnerable and/ or require some additional support with tasks of daily living. Subject teachers have industry experience which is shared with learners. This provides a stimulating learning environment and promotes positive learning. The course will also help develop those all-important employability skills that will help you decide on your career path.
On this 1 year course, you are required to have a disclosure and barring service check (DBS); this allows you to access the work experience that is required to develop your skill set within health and social care. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a real life insight into health and social care settings. Alongside the course, you will also attend visits and trips to support and enhance your classroom delivery. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside medical marvels and gain an insight into a range of different health care professionals.
Learners should have 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. You will be interviewed by the subject teachers and should be enthusiastic about working with individuals who may be vulnerable and/ or require some additional support with tasks of daily living. You will re-sit your English and maths alongside your health and social care course (If you do not have grade 4)
You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including discussions, displays, case studies, presentations and written work. The course is graded A* to D.
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:
● Health and Social Care, Level 3 (Advanced)
● Employment with the health and social care sector.
