Industrial Training - 4 Day CNC Machine Setting, Operation and Basic Programming

You will learn how to set and operate CNC machines. You will also learn how to produce basic CNC programs and then to edit/simulate & manufacture components on the CNC machines.

The course will include:

Introduction & General Layout of Machines, including safety features.

Operator, Keyboard & Soft-key Explanation (familiarity with CNC controls)

Axes Configuration. X, Y, Z.

Manual modes and use of MDI

Tooling; types of tools and tool holders, tool setting etc.

Setting tool length offsets and tool offset library

Datum setting (G54 – G59); methods and practically setting

Tool Library & Memory Configuration.

Produce basic CNC programs using ISO codes (G & M)

Introduction to fixed forms

Program editing and simulation

Producing components – use of single block, optional stop, federate override etc

(following safe working practices at all times)
Develop industry standard CNC Setting skills for both CNC Lathes & CNC Machining Centres, using new ‘industrial standard’ Doosan fanuc CNC machines.
No previous CNC experience required. A general engineering knowledge would be beneficial.
