Beauty Therapy Level 2 (intermediate), part time 1 day 19+

This is a part time study programme which covers a wide range of beauty therapy topics. The units are assessed internally by subject specialist teachers. Most units consist of a mix of theory assessments (exams and assignments) and practical assessments which are carried out in our brand new, high street, commercial salon.

Some of the topics you will cover over the year include waxing, manicure, pedicure, facial treatments, lash and brow, reception and health and safety. You will also be required to purchase the salon uniform and a kit prior to commencing the course. Financial support is available to some students to purchase equipment. It is recommended that you carry out a minimum of 6 hours a week home study.
Beauty Therapy offers an exciting and challenging career in a fast paced industry.

The course includes a variety of practical and theory classes alongside commercial salon sessions on paying clients. You will take part in trips, visits, seminars and competitions alongside your course to further develop your understanding and knowledge of the industry. You are also expected to undertake work experience in a beauty salon to enhance your skills, keep you up to date with the latest trends and aid employability and progression opportunities.

You will be interviewed by subject specialist teachers and should demonstrate enthusiasm about a career in the Hairdressing industry.
●  You will be assessed by various methods of assessment including practical assessments, online exams, assignments and written tasks. The course is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:

●  Beauty Therapy Level 3

●  Apprenticeship in a salon

●  Nails Level 2

●  Hairdressing Level 2

●  Junior therapist working within a salon environment

●  Freelance work
If you are a Greater Manchester resident, and meet the unemployed criteria, or are employed, including where the low wage flexibility may apply, (or aged 19-23 and non GM resident) and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, tuition fees will be waived.
