This programme is the first step to gaining a qualification in the Kitchen, Bedrooms & Bathrooms Fitting Industry, specifically in the role of Kitchen Fitter

The course covers the following units:

Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries

Understanding information, quantities and communication with others

Understanding construction technology

Install fitted furniture

Install basic plumbing
An Individual Learning Plan will be designed for your needs

You will be assigned a Personal Tutor and a Progress Tutor who specifically look after your pastoral and course requirements

You will work with the latest industry tooling as used by Bench Joinery specialists including Blum, Festool, Hitachi, Maple, Stanley & Felder.

On your course you will experience Industry talks, Industry visits and compete in various Skills Competitions

You will be encouraged to complete a C.V. and apply for Tameside College Apprenticeships within your chosen specialism and gain valuable work skills from work-experience placements.
Learners must have;

Progression from CSkills Awards Diploma Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery

4 GCSE’s grade D – G 0r 1 -3 (Must include English and maths)

Successful interview with a Carpenter or Joinery tutor

A genuine interest in the subject

Good communication skills

A hardworking approach towards the industry
