This programme will gaining you a qualification in the Construction Industry, specifically in the role of a Site Carpenter
The course covers the following units:
● Principles of construction
● Structural Carpentry
● Non-structural Carpentry prior to Plastering
● Non-structural Carpentry following Plastering
● Timber technology and the use of a circular saw
The units you will be completing are designed so that you will have the underlying principles and practical skills involved, you will also have an overview of the principles of construction, building technology and terminology used.

A site carpenter has the skills and knowledge to create and design objects, installing doors, windows, building roofing structures and much more. The Carpenter is an important part of any construction team.
At Tameside College you will be working with our very skilled and knowledge tutors and assessors to gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge that you will need when working as a site carpenter. This will allow you to progressing further to more learning and training in this area.
Once you successfully complete your level 2 site Carpenters course you will be qualified to work in the construction industry as a site Carpenter.
An Individual Learning Plan will be designed for your needs
● You will work with the latest industry tooling as used by professional site Carpenters such as Festool- Dewalt- Trend
● On your course you will learn vital skills which will assist you in becoming a site carpenter
The course requires are:
A minimum of level 1 Diploma in site carpentry and a 2 or above in Maths and English
Assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course. We will ask you to complete practical assessments which are recorded in work books and VLE.
