Level 2 Engineering (Mechanical)

This course will encourage candidates to find out about working in engineering. It will cover the

underpinning basic skills and knowledge needed to function in engineering or manufacturing

sectors.

The course covers the following five units:

Working in engineering

Principles of engineering technology

Principles of fabrication & welding

Fabricating sheet metalwork

Welding
●  Develop industry standard skills in welding & fabrication

●  Use latest industrial software for CAD and welding simulation

●  Gain qualifications that engineering employers know and trust

●  Purpose built Advanced Technologies Centre
You are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade 3 including English and Maths. You will also be required to undertake an interview and will be expected to be enthusiastic about working in the engineering sector.
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:

●  The level 3 City and guilds in engineering

●  Employment within the engineering sector

●  An Apprenticeship

●  Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (providing you have also achieved a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and English)
