Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses

This is a 12-week distance learning course, allowing learners to choose when and where to study. You will be provided with the resource and assessment materials to enable you to successfully complete the course and achieve a nationally accredited qualification.

Throughout the course, you will complete three units in total.

These include:

●  Understand how to provide a safe and healthy environment for babies and young children

●  Understand common childhood illnesses

●  Understand health emergencies and specific health conditions in an early years setting.
This knowledge only qualification is suitable for learners who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of common childhood illnesses, to enable them to support the development and wellbeing of infants and children they support/ care for.
Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year

Aged 19-23 must already hold a full level 2 qualification or equivalent

Aged 24+ - Employed/Unemployed (Proof of salary will be required for any eligible fee remission)

Lived in the EU for 3 years
●  This course is available online or as a paper version.

●  The course split into manageable units.

●  Each unit will be marked and feedback provided by a qualified Assessor.

●  A nationally recognised level 2 qualification is gained.
On successful completion of this qualification, you could progress onto:

●  Level 2 Certificate in Working with Children in Early Years & Primary Settings

●  Level 2 Certificate in Caring for Children and Young People

●  Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education & Care
These courses are available to all adult learners, no matter your employment status, but if you are:
Not in paid employment and receiving a means tested benefit - please bring with you current dated benefit documentation.
In paid employment but with an annual gross salary of less than £18,135 - please bring with you a wage slip dated within 3 months of the start of the course.
If you are aged 19-23 as well as meeting the benefit criteria you will also need to hold a full level 2 qualification.
