The AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping will help to develop the skills and knowledge gained in the L2 Bookkeeping qualification.
The qualification is composed of three units;
● Advanced Bookkeeping
● Final Accounts Preparation
● Indirect Tax
By completing this qualification you will understand advanced bookkeeping principles and concepts, preparation of financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, and issues around indirect tax in business. All of this will be learned in the context of the ethical issues that a bookkeeper may encounter in their professional life.
It is good practice for students to work with employers while studying and during the course you will be expected to engage in suitable work experience. There will also be the opportunity to attend masterclasses and participate in lessons delivered by guest speakers working in accounting.
You will be taught by a number of tutors with real life experience in accountancy and a Progress Tutor who will work with you to look after your academic study and pastoral needs
Learners should have completed level 2 foundation certificate in bookkeeping as well as 4 GCSEs grade 4 or above including mathematics and/ or English.
You will be interviewed by the subject teachers and should be enthusiastic about developing your knowledge and understanding of the world of accountancy.
All units are assessed individually in end-of unit online assessments.
The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification will enable a student to seek employment with confidence and/or to progress to the next level of learning.
The skills developed in the AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping can lead to employment as:
● a professional bookkeeper
● a senior bookkeeper
● an accounts manager
● a ledger manager.
