Bookkeeping Level 1

The Access to Bookkeeping: introduces the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques.

On the course you will

●  Understand the role of the bookkeeper

●  Understand financial transactions

●  Process customer and supplier transactions

●  Process receipts and payments
This is a basic entry-level qualification and can provide a solid grounding for students with no previous bookkeeping knowledge or experience, before moving on to the foundation-level qualifications.
No formal prior qualification in accountancy is required but basic literacy and numeracy competence is necessary (ideally L1)
You will be assessed through a computer based assessment which is wholly computer marked, and so results will be available automatically and immediately.
AAT qualifications are recognised by employers as practical and technical qualifications that prepare students for the world of work and for working specifically in accountancy and finance roles.

You can continue and study the Level 1 Access Award in Accounting Software

The Access Award in Bookkeeping can lead to employment as:

●  Cashier

●  Clerical Assistant
If you are a Greater Manchester resident, and meet the unemployed criteria, or are employed, including where the low wage flexibility may apply, (or are aged 19-23 and non GM resident) and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived.
