An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Social Care apprentice to support the emotional wellbeing and health within community and statutory services.
1 apprentice will complete their apprenticeship within our Therapeutic Services department at our allotment site in Hyde and a further 4 will work within our Client Services, Therapeutic Services and Community Development Departments.
Communicating to a variety of individuals with diverse needs, such as vulnerable clients who may be in mental distress or crisis, individuals with learning difficulties and children & young people with emotional and/or mental health issues. Communication will be either face-to-face, over the telephone or via email.
Co-facilitating therapeutic group courses with adults, children & young people with emotional and/or mental health issues; courses will focus on promoting positive mental , development of positive relationships and person-centred strategies for addressing emotional issues i.e. anger management, stress & anxiety management, confidence and self-esteem building.
Co-facilitating educational mental health workshops with adults, children & young people; workshops will focus on raising awareness of mental health problems, negative coping strategies such as drug & alcohol use, positive emotional and resilience building strategies.
Supporting and engaging individuals with learning disabilities in basic and developmental activities at our allotment sites.
Implementing ongoing risk assessment and risk management planning, alongside experience staff members, to ensure any issues are addressed regarding harm to self or others, such as vulnerable adults or children and ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
Inputting sensitive information from vulnerable clients accessing our therapeutic services into our monitoring systems, whilst maintaining confidentiality for the clients and adhering to data protection policies.
