“A First Class Enrichment Activity”

“A First Class Enrichment Activity”

The BTEC Workskills group from the E2E Centre recently tackled the Challenge 4 Change indoor obstacle course in Trafford Park as part of their assessment for teamwork skills. This included negotiating a 35 ft high aerial trekking course, high ropes, a climbing wall and a low level obstacle course. The group had to work together and communicate effectively to get round the course.

Entry to Employment tutors planned the activity as a challenging, experiential learning activity to demonstrate the qualities needed for effective teamwork.

When talking about the day, Naomi Ellis said, “My motivation has been boosted.” Matthew Roberts commented, “Everybody was good at working in a team. It was the best class at E2E so far.”

E2E tutor, Daron Jackson commented “This activity was a great success and we were really proud of the achievements of the group that day. The young people were challenged and it brought out a lot of skills and qualities amongst them we haven’t observed in a classroom setting.  The instructors at the centre are excellent and we found the whole experience a great tool for teaching teamwork skills in an exciting, challenging and memorable way. It’s a first class enrichment activity!
