Macmillan Coffee Morning Fri, 08 October 2010 Tameside College Dovestones students organised a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research. The students sold filtered coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, toast and crumpets to customers, who were all very pleased with the service. The learners also held a raffle with fabulous prizes including; Cuddly toys, a variety of cosmetics, a selection of CD’s and many more. The coffee morning proved to be a good practice session for the future Dovestones Café and highlighted the improvements the students could make to help ensure a smooth running of the service provided in future. In total the students raised over £50 for Macmillan Cancer Research. Dovestones tutor, Janet Entwisle commented, “I would like to thank all the members of staff who donated prizes for the raffle, also a thank you to the people who visited us on the day and contributed to the money raised”.
