Visit by Canon Johnson

Tameside College hosted a visit for Year 6 pupils and their staff from Canon Johnson Primary School, based in Ashton-under-Lyne. The visit started with a viewing of the new 3D film about the College, followed by a tour including the Hair and Beauty salons, the Bakery, Reflections Restaurant, Motor Vehicle and Workshops in Art and Design, Construction and Engineering.

The visit concluded with all the pupils attending the Chill Out zone in the Courtyard Theatre where they took part in table football, pool, table tennis and played on the Nintendo Wii.

The visit was arranged at the request of Deputy Head Jane Norburn who wanted to raise the aspirations of their pupils, by finding out about what goes on in a large college.

The visit was a great success and gave the pupils plenty of ideas for the future. Pictured are the pupils taking part in the activities in the Chill Out Zone.
