Adult learners show the benefits of education, as over 100 Tameside College students celebrated completing their Access Diplomas in July 2011.

After a year of hard work, each learner successfully completed their course, in areas such as Nursing & Midwifery, Humanities, Teaching, Law and Social Sciences. The majority of the Adult learners have now already secured a place at University were they will continue their studies.

During the presentation evening, certificates and Learner of the Year Awards were presented by Deputy Principal, Jenny Worsdale, who felt that the evening had been a fantastic experience, and one to be celebrated by the College.

Course Tutor, Sarah Armstrong said, “It just goes to show that it’s never too late to return to study. The learners ranged from 19 to 40 years old, all of which are now looking forward to the challenges ahead, and beginning a rewarding career doing something they feel passionate about”.
