Tameside College has worked closely with Tameside Council, with a view to upskilling Taxi drivers in the borough.
The second presentation went ahead on Monday 31st October, at the recently opened Tameside Centre for Enterprise, Old Street, Ashton. 130 taxi drivers from across Tameside achieved their first NVQ Level 2 in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving.
Brian Saxon (Logistics Manager at Tameside College) welcomed the drivers, and Ken Bate (Commercial Director at Tameside College) awarded the certificates. Refreshments were served before the drivers returned to work on the streets in and around Tameside.
Chris Matthews, Key Account Manager said, “The turnout was most encouraging and the feedback has been very positive. Many drivers gave up their time at work to attend and receive their certificates”.
