Hospitality Students Visit London

Hospitality students enjoyed a 3 day visit to London this year, experiencing some of the capitals finest hotels, bars and restaurants.

The objective of the visit was to expose the students to potential places of work, whilst exploring the variety of career paths they could take.

The group gained some valuable information to include in their course assignments, some of the highlights of the trip included; A behind the scenes tour of the Harrods food hall, including a viewing of the one million pound wine collection, afternoon tea at the Hilton Hotel and a tour of the Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows Restaurant, located in Mayfair, one of the cities trendiest locations.

The most popular visit during the trip was a guided tour of the Le Gavroche Restaurant, the first UK restaurant to be awarded three Michelin stars. The visit also included an inspiring talk by chef de cuisine Michel Roux Jr, regarding the young students career possibilities and future hopes and aspirations.

Hospitality tutor, Charlotte Rowarth, said: “The students have become a lot more confident since their visit and now have a much more focused view on where they would like to work in future. We are now in the process of organising some work experience for the learners at the Connaught Hotel and the Galvin at Windows Restaurant.”
