Dovestones New Supported Traineeships

Dovestones New Supported Traineeships

The Dovestones Centre at Tameside College has created an exciting new partnership with Pure Innovations and Tameside MBC. The new partnership is aimed at getting young people with learning difficulties or disabilities in Tameside into sustained paid work through supported training with a local host employer.

The partners got together to launch the scheme with an information evening at Tameside College’s Dovestones Centre within the Foundation Learning Department.

Young people aged 18-24 years and their families from the Tameside area were invited to the event which involved a presentation from the Supported Traineeship team. The young people were then able to ask questions about the new traineeship course and then completed applications to show their interest in the new study programme.

It is hoped that the course will build on the strong links the College has within the community and lead to more paid employment opportunities for people with learning difficulties or disabilities in the local area.
