Students learn from the best at 5-star restaurants

Students who have just started a Level 2 Professional Cookery and Food Service course at Tameside College were in for a treat when they got the opportunity to visit the Radisson Blu Hotel at Manchester Airport. The students observed the Radisson’s sleek grill restaurant and cocktail bar got their 5-star rating on Thursday 10th September, and if that wasn’t enough, the students got to enjoy a two course meal at the 5-star La Boheme in Lymm too.

The Professional Cookery and Food Service students were greeted by Radisson Blu’s Human Resources Manager, Alex Sherriff who showed them around the Hotel and restaurant, and explained to the students what it is like working for Radisson Blu.

Tameside College Tutor, John Holden accompanied the students on their visit and spoke of their experiences; “These students who took part in this trip were able to get an insight into the kind of work that we expect from them as they progress in their studies and in their careers. Visiting these restaurants is also a great way for the College to keep the links with the local industry which helps our students tremendously.”
