Students light up Christmas Markets

Electrical students at Tameside College have been working in partnership with Tameside Council and Benchmark Building Supplies to light up Tameside Christmas Markets.

Benchmark Building supplies have provided Tameside College with the materials to complete the lighting for the Christmas Market cabins.
Carpentry and joinery students at Tameside College were also involved in completing the cabins as work experience.

The cabins will go in place at Tameside Christmas Markets on Friday 25th November.

Carl Shaw, Curriculum Leader at Tameside College, said: “It is a great opportunity for the students to be involved in a project like this one. It will allow them to gain hands on experience but have the support of the College teachers at the same time. Work experience will look great on the students’ CV’s when they are applying for a career in the industry. We would like to thank Tameside Council and Benchmark Building Supplies for giving our students the opportunity.”

Peter Spencer, Project Supervisor for the Christmas Markets said: "I would like to put on record how pleased I am with the students commitment, attitude & performance over the last few days, they really are a credit to the college".
