Students brush up on styling techniques

Four level three hairdressing students from Tameside College visited the Wella Studios in Manchester to receive specialist training and to explore the latest trends in the industry.

Wella Studios is the training provider for all official Wella salons and hairdressers in the North West and offer regular student focused events. The college’s students are invited on a yearly basis to visit.

The students received training with Wella educators who demonstrated the latest colouring, cutting and styling techniques on live models including brand new colours that are available. They were also given the chance to enter Wella's ‘exposure’ competition which showcases the best of college students' work around the UK.

Laura Woods, hair and beauty teacher at Tameside College said: “The students really enjoyed their visit to the studios. It is one of the ways we try to inspire and challenge our students to achieve the best they possibly can. We have a great relationship with Wella so it’s always good to show our students what they can offer."

Rachel Matley, level three hairdressing student at Tameside College commented: “The visit was really good and I thought that the demos Wella experts gave were amazing. I learnt a lot all in one day and will be using a lot of it in my work in the future.”
