College comes together to help Children in Need

Staff and students at Tameside College enjoyed a day of fun and fundraising to help raise money for Children in Need.

Activities included: a bake sale, a themed ‘rave’, a ‘bring a bear to work’ event, a visit by Pudsey Bear, nail painting, a coffee morning and fancy dress with the theme being ‘something spotty’.

Childcare students used their skills to organise a cake and bake sale in the college’s refectory, which managed to raise £190, not only contributing to the charity but to their overall grade for their course.

Staff and students also donated to have their photo taken with Pudsey and were entered into a competition to win a £20 voucher.

BBC Children in Need raises money for disadvantaged children across the UK. This year the charity raised a record amount.

Jackie Moores, Principal at Tameside College, said: “I'm really proud of the contribution that all students and staff have made to support Children in Need. It’s great for the students to get involved, working together to make a difference and contributing back to their community, alongside having lots of fun!”
