Level 2 Barbering (Part Time Eve)

This is a part time study programme. To complete this course there are 4 units. For each unit you will sit an exam and complete a variety of practical assessments; you must pass all the exams and assessments to gain the qualification. You will learn through a variety of teaching methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, assignment writing and interactive activities.

Throughout the course you will study 4 units in total. These include:

Health and Safety

Consultation

Cut Men’s Hair

Cut Facial Hair.
If you are looking at starting a career in the barbering industry, this course is for you. You must demonstrate good communication skills. The course will enable you to gain the confidence and the skills to work within the industry. All units have been designed to prepare you for working on

real clients in a realistic working environment, in our new, modern salons. In addition, you will gain skills in professional standards and what is expected of you in a salon environment.
Level 2 (Intermediate)

- 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above.

You will be interviewed for this course. You should be enthusiastic about working in the barbering sector.
You are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. You will be continually assessed through:

· Verbal questioning

· Assignments

· External paper/online tests

· Practical observations.

The course is graded pass or fail.
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:

· An apprenticeship

· Salon employee/employer

· Mobile

· Cruise ships

· Progress onto other hair courses (L1/2 hairdressing).

If you are aged 19-23, meet the unemployed criteria, or earn less than £23,104 annual gross salary, and already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, tuition fees will be waived.
If you are aged 19-23 and don’t meet the unemployed criteria, and already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, tuition fees are payable.
If you are aged 19-23 and do not already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, full fees are payable.
If you are aged 24+ and meet the unemployed criteria, or earn less than £23,104 annual gross salary, tuition fees will be waived.
If you are aged 24+ and don’t meet the unemployed criteria, or you earn more than £23,104 annual gross salary, tuition fees are payable.
