Level 1 Health & Social Care
Course content & format
Throughout the course, you will develop a range of skills and knowledge preparing you for progression into employment within the Early Years sector or onto level 2 Introduction to Childcare and education.
Course units include;
Supporting babies to play
Understand learning and development
Growth and development of young children
Musical activities for young children
Your learning experience
An Individual Learning Plan will be designed for your needs
Assigned a Personal Tutor and a Progress Tutor who specifically look after your pastoral and course requirements
The course also includes guest speakers and educational visits.
Assessments are in a variety of ways including discussion, displays, case studies, presentations, written work and practical assessments whilst at placement
Weekly work placement experience in a range of settings
An enhanced DBS is essential
Entry qualifications
Learners must have;
No formal GCSE’s
Successful interview with a Early Years tutor
A genuine interest in the subject
Good communication skills
A hardworking approach
What can I do next?
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:
Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator)
Employment within the Early Years sector
