Level 3 Food and Beverage Service Supervision

All aspects of supervising a Food and Beverage service, including supervising events, bar and wine service, with sessions both practical and theoretical.

Visits to International and local Restaurants and Catering establishments.

Opportunities for learners to be involved in internal and national competitions.

Taking part in in-depth live demonstrations including regular updates in front of house trends.

You will gain valuable practical experience working in the restaurant at Tameside ONE which belongs to the college and open to the public.

This course has been designed to give both practical hands-on skills and an understanding of the catering industry with food safety and health and safety for the catering industry also included. The course is for enthusiastic people and individuals looking to take the next steps towards a career in the Hospitality Service industry.

The hospitality industry is an exciting and challenging career. The course will combine core skills such as communication, organisation, planning as well as practical skills.
Your weekly practical timetable would be made up of a theory, practical and RWE (Realistic working environment) classes using brand new facilities and state of the art equipment to produce high quality products covering all aspects of the industry.

Your theory sessions are made up of underpinning knowledge questions taught by experienced tutors.

To qualify for onto this course, you have to be 16-19, be available for a full weekly timetable and be prepared to work at professional standards. You will also be invited to an interview to assess your interest, aptitude and suitability to the course and a level 2 catering qualification.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course. We will ask you to complete practical assessments, which are recorded in your workbook. There are short answer question papers and some other written assignments.
Once you have successfully completed this course, you will then be able to progress on to employment or apply to higher education for Hospitality Management courses.
