Safeguarding at Tameside College

We want you to feel safe around college and in general. If you have any concerns about your safety or that of someone you know then you can speak to us for advice and support.

There are staff in college who are trained to deal with issues relating to forced marriage, the safety and wellbeing of young people under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults.

Tameside College staff can provide access to support and help you deal with many issues affecting your safety and wellbeing. So, if there is time when you have concerns, are unhappy or you are worried about the welfare of another learner there is always someone you can talk to:

1. You may want to speak to your tutor or support worker

2. If you want to speak directly to the Safeguarding Officer, you can find us in Student Services.

Please remember, whoever you speak to may in turn refer you to the Safeguarding Officer for further guidance. If there is a serious issue which may result in serious harm being caused to someone, then they may have to consult appropriate outside agencies and act accordingly.

Learners should be assured that all disclosures and/or reports of concerns or suspicions will be taken seriously and dealt with sensitively and respectfully in accordance with the relevant local guidelines.
