Bridal Fayre

Bridal Fayre

BTEC National Hospitality students had 12 weeks to organise a wedding fayre this term as part of their assessment for planning and organising an event. The event took place at Dukinfield Town Hall with over 200 people in attendance.

Members of the public spent the afternoon browsing the 18 stalls of exhibitors comprising of photographers, room dressers, travel agents, hairdressers and florists.

The students had completed all aspects of planning the event from contacting potential exhibitors, making decisions on marketing, planning room layout, dealing with Health and Safety and planning budgets.

After the success of the event the exhibitors left the following comments:
“The attention to detail was very good and the programme was well designed to include business details.”
“The event was well thought out and better run than some professionally organised events.”
“A well organised event and the students were attentive and very helpful. It was excellent.”

Neil Berry, Business & Quality Manager from Tameside MBC commented “It is always a pleasure to get the opportunity to work so closely with the hospitality managers of the future. The enthusiasm and drive that the students bring to these events is a delight to see. The level of achievement in the event management planning was evident and key to the success of the event. I certainly look forward to working closely again with the college in the future."
