Royal British Legion Wed, 25 January 2012 Tameside College send soldier gift boxes to show support to the Royal British Legion. The Human Resource team asked college staff to donate gift boxes to send to serving British Soldiers. The gift boxes could include a variety of items ranging from toiletries and snacks to clothes and magazines. Additional ‘Doggy’ boxes were also collected specifically for the dogs working in the Royal British Legion. The boxes were collected over a four week period and then sent to the Welfare Officer in Camp Bastian to distribute. College Tutor, Karen Brooks said, “The Royal British Legion are really grateful for the donations for our serving troops and their dogs! Receiving the parcels is such a moral boost to the men and women in Afghanistan, just to know they have the support back home makes all the difference. Many thanks to all the staff for taking the time to donate a parcel”. The Human Resource team would like to thank everyone that got involved for their support.
