Computing Hub & Tameside College Partnership

Tameside College is one of thirty nine computing hubs across the country. The hubs focus of the development of computer science teachers in Greater Manchester.

With a new state of the art computing training hub located at our new Tameside One campus in the centre of Ashton-Under-Lyne, we’re committed in helping you remain ahead of the computer science curve.

Computer Science has never been more relevant in our world today, our mission as the NCCE Computing Hub is to support teachers in Greater Manchester in preparing their pupils for a successful career in computer science through full comprehensive support and training in our primary/secondary CORE programme and our computer science accelerator.

Funded by the Department of Education we are able to deliver extensive, high quality training and support through the collaboration of STEM Learning, The Raspberry Pi Foundation and BCS, Chartered Institute for IT.

What you can expect from our hub:

  • A flexible and tailored programme to suit the needs and commitments of your team
  • Support for your team from facilitators, resources and us as a hub for a provider-to-provider approach

Meet the Team

Lauren Denton - Hub Lead

Lauren has worked with Tameside College for 5 years as an administrator for the Executive Team. In this time Lauren has been able to develop relationships with a variety of different people including parents, students and teachers. Lauren works with providers to ensure their success with the hub through support.

Daniel Evans - Hub Administrator

Dan has worked with Tameside College for 5 years and has since become the head of computing. Dan brings his experiences as a teacher and a department head to the NCCE hub to help create a tailored approach to teacher development.

Having completed the Computer Science Accelerator programme with his team, Dan has both awareness and experience in the support that can and is offered to Computing Teachers.

Lauren Kenyon - Hub Administrator

Lauren has worked at Tameside College for 4 years, and is looking forward to meeting new and existing customers. Lauren creates all the Greater Manchester courses for the website, manage bookings and host/provide support to remote training.
