Footballer Aid

Level 4 Sports Massage students recently volunteered their services at a charity match at Manchester City football ground. They were responsible for looking after the players before, during and after the games with massage and preventing injuries.

All proceeds raised at the match were donated to children with diabetes. All the players won the opportunity to play at the Manchester City ground by bidding on a live auction. It’s an event that is played annually and some positions fetch as much as £1000 a place.

Sports massage tutor, Maria Cacia received fantastic feedback from Simon Kershaw, the Football Events Assistant at Football Aid following the visit, which read;
“We were hugely impressed with and extremely grateful, for the time and energy you dedicated to Football Aid and I very much hope you enjoyed taking part. We have been inundated with compliments for your work as a physiotherapist/sports therapist. Also the professionalism of your students was wonderful.”

Maria and her team continue to provide support at sporting events in the North West in order to gain experience for her students and raise funds for worthwhile charities.
