Annual Food Studies Competition

Annual Food Studies Competition

The Annual Food Studies competition was held in the Courtyard Theatre again this year with a fantastic display of what our talented students do best. As always the students produced some incredible work proving their skills are second to none.

This annual competition is entered by all of the Food Studies areas including Catering, Bakery and Hospitality, and at all levels from Entry, Dovestones, School Links and Levels 1, 2 & 3.

The entrants were judged by members from the food and bakery industry with whom the college has enjoyed invaluable links for many years. The companies that were in attendance on the day included Bako, Russums, R Noones, Mettricks and Dawn Foods to name but a few. Competition co-ordinator, Bill Barlow said “We are grateful for all the support the companies give to the college during the event.”

This year a new trophy was presented for the Bakery “live” competition by Bako which was fantastic and well received by the college and student winner. College Principal, Peter Ryder presented the awards to the winners.

The event proved to be a great day for all. The students’ achievements were met with enthusiasm and pride from all of the Food studies staff and appreciated by all visitors.
