Visit to the Christmas Market Fri, 10 December 2010 Tameside College Bakery students visited the Christmas Markets in Manchester as part of their cultural enrichment activities. The market was a showcase for our neighbours from Europe to portray their way of celebrating the festive season with a variety of edible products, including speciality cheeses and fruits dipped in chocolate. Other items that were available for purchase at the market included Christmas trees, jewellery, cosmetics and carved wooden items. Bakery student Hannah Mellor stated “I enjoyed the way they cooked their foods on an open fire with coal burning underneath. I had a great time and everyone was friendly and polite” The students thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the market and gained a valuable insight into the different cultures.
