Eid & Diwali Celebration Tue, 22 November 2011 The College held a combined Eid and Diwali Celebration. The celebration was attended by staff and students. The event was aimed to highlight the significance of Eid-ul-Adha the muslim festival of sacrifice, and Diwali the hindu festival of lights. There were many activities on the day such as Bhangra music and a varied selection of Pakistani and Indian food to mark the occasion, including celebratory cakes provided by bakery students. Health and Social Care student, Raheela Akram said “I learned about how different cultures celebrate their religious festivals. The food was great, and I really liked the little decorative cakes”. All the staff and students who attended on the day agreed it was a great success and look forward to next year’s celebrations.
