Could you ‘make the switch’ to teaching?

Tameside College is searching for tradespeople in specialist sectors to ‘make the switch’ to teaching as part of a new recruitment campaign.

The ‘make the switch’ campaign is calling on experts working in engineering, automotive engineering, plumbing and electrical installation to visit an information event on Wednesday 12th June, 4:30pm to 7pm, to find out more about the benefits of becoming a further education teacher.

The college is offering a salary package of up to £34,000 per year, free teacher training and attractive holiday entitlement for successful applicants.

Over the last three years, Tameside College has made significant improvements, becoming the number one further education college in Greater Manchester for 16-18 training and receiving an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating in 2018.

Jackie Moores, principal at Tameside College, said: “We are looking to recruit the next generation of teachers to pass on their knowledge and give young people the start they need in their career. The college is a great place to work and the benefits are a huge incentive to try your hand at teaching.”
