Kylie's hairstyles make the cut during lockdown

Kylie Andrews, an adult hair and beauty student at Tameside College, has been developing her skills despite the national lockdown.
Kylie, who is currently studying a level two part time course, has been sharing photographs of her work on her social media channels. A bow hairstyle that Kylie created was even ‘liked’ by well known hairstylist, Patrick Cameron.
After completing her course, she hopes to study a level three qualification and eventually open a hair salon of her own in the local area.
Kylie, who is a former Great Academy Ashton student, said: "I like that the college is in a convenient location for me. I have studied at the college previously and there was no question about where I wanted to complete my qualifications. My tutor Janine has always been helpful and supportive, especially in lockdown and answers any questions I have. My class and teacher couldn’t be nicer. I’m excited to continue learning new things with the college and look forward to being back after lockdown."
Janine Davies, hair and beauty teacher at Tameside College, said: "Kylie is a great student of the college and is producing some fantastic work. For someone of Patrick Cameron’s standing in the industry to notice her work is wonderful. I have enjoyed seeing what Kylie has been working on during the lockdown and excited to see her career blossom."
Tameside College’s brand new Tameside One campus hosts a state-of-the-art hair and beauty salon and teachers with extensive industry experience. To find out more about hair and beauty courses, visit www.tameside.ac.uk
