College celebrates the achievements of apprentices and employers with awards ceremony

Tameside College celebrate the achievements of apprentices and employers with awards ceremony

Tameside College’s annual apprenticeship award evening, on Tuesday 30th January kicked off a week of college wide celebrations as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Apprentices were joined by their families and employers for the special occasion, as well as employers who received a ‘great employer’ award. Each award winner was presented with trophies and certificates.

Apprentice winners, who were rewarded for their hard work and success. included Samuel Millican who has progressed from All Saints Catholic College to higher education via an apprenticeship in engineering.

There were 12 ‘great employer’ award winners, one of these was Hyde based firm, Louvolite who said; “Thank you for this award, we have had, and will continue to have a great relationship with Tameside College and look forward to developing many more young individuals together in the future.”

The awards ceremony is part of National Apprenticeship Week 2024 celebrations, which aim to highlight the benefits of apprenticeships to potential students and employers.

During the event, Carl Shaw, assistant principal said: “The awards celebrate all the great things about apprenticeships. We have to thank local employers for providing quality vacancies and on the job training, as well as our skills coaches for their care and attention in supporting both the apprentices and their employers. We wish all the apprentices the best of luck with the rest of their programme and future careers.”

National Apprenticeship Week starts on Monday 5th February 2024.
