Level 2 Classic Car Restoration

This course is aimed at students wanting to explore vehicle accident repair and classic car restoration skills and techniques.

This is a part time study programme.

The course covers:

Vehicle body restoration.

Vehicle Paint Preparation

Application of a Topcoat and Minor Defect Rectification

Spray guns and Their Components

Spraying Techniques

Primers and Sealers

Applying Primers and Sealers

Surface Preparation

Vehicle Masking

Cleaning and Maintaining a Spray Gun

Course usually runs for 24 weeks on one evening a week for 3 hours 6pm -9pm from November to June.

Students will also cover additional units in Health and safety, and Identification of basic external and internal car parts & supporting units. (Ask at your interview)

Undertake exclusive and diverse project repair work on classic cars, modern cars incorporating traditional and advanced skill sets.

●  Problem solving in the workplace

Recognised awarding body NCFE.
Students will already have gained a good grounding in the methods of fabrication for restoration and a wide range of skills and techniques used in the restoration industry. At Level 2 you will expand on your existing knowledge and also be introduced to the paint spraying skills necessary to complete your projects.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you should have a keen interest in the field of vehicle accident repairs and vehicle body restoration.
Student theory work is on paper based or word.

If you are aged 19-23, meet the unemployed criteria, or earn less than £23,104 annual gross salary, and already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, tuition fees will be waived.
If you are aged 19-23 and don’t meet the unemployed criteria, and already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, tuition fees are payable.
If you are aged 19-23 and do not already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, full fees are payable.
If you are aged 24+ and meet the unemployed criteria, or earn less than £23,104 annual gross salary, tuition fees will be waived.
If you are aged 24+ and don’t meet the unemployed criteria, or you earn more than £23,104 annual gross salary, tuition fees are payable.
