Course content & format
The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting covers a range of foundation accounting and finance skills in five mandatory units
● Advanced Bookkeeping
● Final Accounts Preparation
● Management Accounting: Costing
● Indirect Tax
● Synoptic – Ethics for Accountants, Spreadsheets for Accounting
Your learning experience
In this qualification, you will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants. It is suited to students studying part time alongside employment or to those already working in finance.
This qualification is ideal for those looking to gain the skills required to move into a career in finance as it provides a clear pathway towards a successful career in accounting and finance.
Entry qualifications
You need to be 19+ and have completed the full AAT L2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting, ideally with a merit.
You also are expected to have achieve GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or above.
How is this course assessed?
All units are assessed individually in end-of unit online assessments. The qualification also includes a synoptic assessment that students sit towards the end of the qualification. The synoptic assessment draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.
What can I do next?
The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification will enable a student to seek employment with confidence and then progress to the next level of learning which is the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.
