Level 2 Health & Social Care

This is a full time study programme. You will complete a minimum of 30 hours work placement to gain a real life insight into this sector. You will learn through a variety of teaching methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, projects, extended writing and interactive activities.

Throughout the course you will study 7 units in total. These include:

●  Equality and Diversity

●  Human Growth and Development

●  Safeguarding and protection

●  Anatomy and Physiology
If you are interested in making a difference to people’s lives with a rewarding career in Health and Social Care, then this is the course for you. Health and Social Care dominates our lives. You could be looking to work with older people, young people, people with learning disabilities or within the NHS, and this qualification could be the first step on that exciting journey. Health and Social Care courses provide broad based learning around the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of individuals of all ages preparing you for a variety of career pathways including nursing, midwifery, social work and youth work. This practical and academic qualification will give you the knowledge and skills to move forward towards your goal.

In order to attend your work placement, you will undergo an enhanced DBS check
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above

You will be interviewed by the subject teacher. You should be enthusiastic about working within the Health and Social Care Sector and be able to participate in work experience.
Example

●  You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including discussions, displays, case studies, presentations, extended written work and practical assessments

●  All units within these qualifications are internally graded A* - D
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress onto:

●  Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care

●  Employment within the Health & Social Care sector at Level 2

●  An Apprenticeship
