Your tutors all have real-life experience in the Uniformed Services, along with a Progress Tutor dedicated to support your pastoral and study needs. Assessments will be diverse, including group discussions, posters, report writing, presentations, photographic and video evidence, and practical outdoor assessments. There are no formal exams for this course.
The course features a comprehensive work experience program involving organizations like the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, and guest speakers, including former students now serving in the Uniformed Services.
Students may have the chance to participate in residential trips, offering a glimpse into life on a military base with the Royal Marines, British Army, or Royal Navy. In addition to this we work closely with the police and take part in public order training on a regular basis.
Students will wear a uniform which is looks similar to what our police officers currently wear including boots which are suitable for our outdoor and off-site activities. At times you could find yourself working on the same activity as learners from other groups so everyone gets the opportunity to gain experience of working with others.
