Level 3 Policing Services
Ready to embark on an exciting journey towards a career in the United Kingdom Police Forces? This course is designed to equip you with the essential skills and qualities needed to work in this dynamic field. You will dive into a variety of activities, including interactive classroom sessions, invigorating physical fitness training, thrilling outdoor adventures, and a comprehensive work experience program with our local Uniformed Service organizations. Those students who return in year 2 (to achieve the full Extended Diploma) will study a further 9 units which include:
· Understanding Discipline
· Crime Scene Investigation
· Neighbourhood Policing
Learn from seasoned professionals with real-life experience in the Police and Uniformed Services where long standing collaboration with Greater Manchester Police exists. You will have a dedicated Progress Tutor to support your pastoral and study needs. The course features an immersive work experience program with Greater Manchester Police (including working with officers from Ashton-under-Lyne & Oldham,) inspiring guest speakers, including former students now serving within the emergency services & armed forces.
You will also have the thrilling opportunity to participate in public order training with the Greater Manchester Police which occurs regularly and is one of the activities students always look forward to.
To join this exciting course, you'll need 4 GCSEs at level 4 or above, including Maths or English Language. A pre-course interview and assessment day are part of the process. We're looking for enthusiastic candidates eager to dive into a career in the Police and fully engage with all aspects of the course which includes:

Forget formal exams! Assessments are varied and engaging, including group discussions, creative posters, detailed report writing, dynamic presentations, photographic and video evidence, and practical outdoor assessments. Aim for higher-level grades within the pass/merit/distinction grading system and staff will always encourage and support students to achieve those higher grades.
Upon successful completion, you can take your next steps towards:
· Move into Higher Education at University (after completing the Extended Diploma)
· Consider a policing role within one of the armed forces
· Pursue part or full-time work in other areas
