The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrical sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as:

●  Working safely and effectively

●  Principles of electrical science

●  Electrical design and installation

●  Electrical inspection testing and commissioning

●  Electrical testing and commissioning

●  Electrical fault finding

●  Planning and design in Electrical work

The college will collaborate with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will also provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the plumbing industry or specialist further study.

Level 2 Electrical

Complete a successful interview with an Electrical Tutor

Have a genuine interest in the subject

Possess very good communication skills

Have a hardworking and conscientious approach towards the course.
The course is assessed via a combination of practical and theory-based tasks both of which will lead to a summative end point assessment at the end of the academic year.

A number of these tasks will be set by employers and other industry related bodies to ensure learners’ experiences and skills remain current and to industry standards.
This qualification will prepare you for an Electrical apprenticeship programme, which fully qualifies you to work as a plumbing and domestic heating engineer. The apprenticeship will give you an understanding of suitable onsite skills and further knowledge required to work in the Electrical industry.

Once qualified, you may also wish to study further in a specialist area such as the Renewable Technologies and Building Services Design.
