T Level Technical Qualification in Digital
The T-Level in Digital Production, Design and Development is comprised of three main components; Core, Occupational and Placement.
The Core component of the qualification covers a variety of concepts such as data, security and programming.
The Occupational component is focused on the skills required to thrive in the digital job market. This includes many areas such as the software development life cycle, software solution methodologies and the impact of emerging technologies.
Finally, you will also complete a substantial work placement which involves working in a digital role, where you will also be supported to complete an Employer Set Project.
T-Levels are a new two-year, Level 3 programme which combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) of industry placement with an employer.
Within Tameside College, you will learn in state of the art classrooms that contain industry standard hardware and software.
5 GCSE Grade “4”, including English and Maths.
The course will be assessed using a number of different techniques.
The Core component will be assessed through two written exams, and the employer led project.
The Occupational component is an externally set project that learners work towards throughout the year.
As learners will also undertake a work placement, they will be required to adhere to the workplace rules in which they are assigned.
This T-Level supports progression towards a wide range of job opportunities in areas such as:
- Software Developer Technician
- Web Developer
- Mobile App Developer
- Software Developer
- Application Support Analyst
- Automated Test Developer
Learners could also progress to under-graduate university degrees or higher level apprenticeships.
