Level 3 Hair & Media Make-Up

This is a full time study programme which covers a wide range of advanced Hair & Media Makeup subjects. The units are assessed internally by subject specialist teachers. Most units consist of a mix of theory assessments (exams and assignments) and practical assessments within a realistic working environment. This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career as a make-up artist, providing hair and make-up services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic industries. You will develop your communication and personal skills which are essential in this type of work, and will gain practical experience through work experience.

You will also be required to purchase the salon uniform and a kit prior to commencing the course. Financial support is available to some students to purchase equipment.
Level 3 in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair & Media Makeup offers an exciting and challenging career in a fast paced industry.

The course includes a variety of practical and theory classes alongside commercial salon sessions on paying clients. You will take part in trips, visits, seminars and competitions alongside your course to further develop your understanding and knowledge of the industry. You are also expected to undertake work experience, either in a photography studio or a salon to enhance your skills, keep you up to date with the latest trends and aid employability and progression opportunities.
Learners should possess Level 2 Diploma in Hair & Media Makeup. You will have the opportunity to re sit your maths and English if you do not have a grade 4 alongside your qualification.
●  You will be assessed by various methods of assessment including practical assessments, online exams, assignments and written tasks. The course is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
