Level 2 Hairdressing
Course content & format
Throughout the course you will develop a range of skills and knowledge in the Hairdressing industry, preparing you for a rewarding career developing your artistic flair and creative abilities. You will complete both practical and theory work in all of the following areas:
● Health and Safety
● Colouring
● Cutting
● Styling the hair
● Reception
● Consultation and good client care
● Promoting services and products
You will gain the practical skills required in our commercial salon based on the ground floor of the Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College. There is an option to undertake 1 further unit on Perming Hair for talented learners. There will be in-house competitions.
Trip to Blackpool (March) for National finals of AHT competitions as well as working with the Francesco Hairdressing group.
Entry qualifications
Learners will be accepted onto the programme after a successful interview. Potential learners should have a good general education and preferably four GCSE grade D or above, one of which must be English, or level 1 Foundation Hairdressing with level 1 Functional Skills in English, Maths is desirable. Learners should also possess the following qualities:
● Good communication skills
● Stamina
● Enjoy working with others as a team
● Good dexterity skills
● Personal commitment
● Be reliable and punctual
What can I do next?
On completion of the course you may wish to gain employment in a Hairdressing salon or progress onto the level 3 Hairdressing course. You can always side step to level 2 Beauty Therapy or Gent barbering (subject to availability)
