Immerse yourself in the dynamic and ever-evolving world of media! This exciting A Level course will deepen your understanding of how media influences society and shapes our perceptions. You will explore a wide range of media forms, including television, film, advertising, video games, social media, music videos, newspapers, and magazines.
You’ll study key topics such as:

As part of your coursework, you will create your own media products, developing skills in planning, production, and post-production, ensuring a well-rounded experience.
Your learning experience
Engage with real-world media texts, from Hollywood blockbusters to social media influencers.

Participate in media industry workshops, guest speaker sessions, and potential trips to media hubs.

Entry qualifications
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE English and Maths.
A strong interest in media, film, digital culture, and communication.
No prior media experience is required, but creativity and analytical skills are essential for success.
How is this course assessed?
70% Examination: Two externally assessed written exams covering media theory, case studies, and critical analysis.
30% Coursework: You will plan, create, and evaluate an original media product such as a magazine, short film, or website.
Final grading follows the A Level grading system: A* - E.
