Entry Level (Foundation)

No formal entry requirements. Enthusiasm and commitment to learning are essential.
This course is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that you build throughout your learning. There are no exams—instead, you’ll complete practical assignments, reflect on your progress, and present your final outcomes.

Your tutor will provide regular feedback and guidance, helping you to improve and confidently demonstrate your skills. Your final portfolio will showcase your technical development, creativity, and ability to respond to photographic themes and briefs.
After successfully completing the Level 1 Award in Photography, you may choose to:

- Progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Photography to deepen your technical skills and creative knowledge

- Apply your new skills to a freelance photography side business or creative project

- Explore other creative adult education courses, such as Graphic Design, Art & Design, or Media Production

- Use your portfolio to support entry to further study or employment in the creative industries
