This course provides an introduction to the construction industry, focusing on practical groundworks skills. It is ideal for learners who want to develop hands-on experience and progress into a specific trade within construction.

Units covered include:

• Health and safety in construction

• Preparing and laying paving slabs

• Setting out and constructing gravel pathways

• Installing block paving to industry standards

• Installing underground domestic drainage systems

• Mixing, placing and finishing concrete

Training takes place in workshops and classrooms, combining practical activities with theory to develop your understanding of construction processes and safe working practices.
